Ron Bowman

Ron Bowman is our second first-timer to be featured and he possibly holds the Trail record for our oldest participant! His involvement makes the gap between oldest and youngest in this year's Trail a remarkable 68 years.

1. Please tell us about the work you will be showing in the 2009 E17 Art Trail?
I shall be showing watercolour paintings at the Walthamstow Central Library foyer.

2. Could you have done this work anywhere, or is it specific to E17?
It could have been done anywhere, but easier at my home studio.

3. Have you participated in the E17 Art Trail before?
No previous participation.

4. How does your work this year relate to your previous artistic practice?
As a photographer for many years with a Royal Photographic Society distinction,
I wanted to utilise photos in my collection to inspire my other passion - painting.

5. What challenges (if any) do you face in realising this work?

The challenge is to make the painting more stimulating than a photo.

6. Who is this work for?
Work for my own pleasure - and sales!

7. As well as being an artist what else do you do?

76 year old retired cabinet maker, live from day to day - grateful for reasonable good health.

8. What is your favourite place in E17?
The High Street.
